Common Questions When Applying

How do I get a student visa?

Please read our web page "How do I get a student visa?"

What's an I-20 form?

An I-20 form is a Department of Homeland Security document issued by Agape English Language Institute and other approved schools, colleges and universities in the U.S. You must have an I-20 form to get and maintain a student visa; an I-20 demonstrates that you have a genuine relationship with a school before and during your stay in the U.S. Students who have an I-20 are required to be in class at least 18 hours per week. For more information, read our web page "How do I get a student visa?"

Can I study English as a tourist?

Yes. However, "if you are going to the U.S. primarily for tourism, but want to take a short course of study of less than 15 hours per week, you may be able to do so on a visitor visa. You should inquire at the appropriate U.S. Embassy or Consulate. If your course of study is more than 15 hours a week, you will need a student visa" (http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1268.html).

How much do classes cost?

The cost of classes varies from 425 to 1,700 USD. See our Tuition & Fees page.

I'm a local resident. Do I get a discount?

Yes. Local residents (green-card holders and U.S. citizens) receive a discount of 300 USD as a full-time student. Other discounts also apply.

Does Agape offer scholarships?

Unfortunately, Agape is not in the position to offer scholarships at this time. However, I think you find that our prices are already quite low compared to other intensive English schools. In fact, the price of full-time tuition has only increased 3% (50 USD) in the last 9 years!
